  • "I want to end the IRS. There was no income tax before 1913, and the tax was only to be on the rich. There has to be a ban on government borrowing money. They have shown no ability to stop spending" (votesmart.org)
  • "Society brings us far more good than bad. Government is the opposite force to that good. Some government seems to be necessary, but more is not better. Unforturately, government grows until the taxes and regulations imposed on society finally destroys it." (votesmart.org)

  • "Defense It is long over due to bring our troops back home where they belong. We need to be able to defend the United States not the whole world.Foreign Policy Neturality. It seems as if we are being led into another war, this time in the Urkraine. This country has little to do with our national self interest. I will oppose any efforts to involve us in this conflict." • "The Social Security system is assumed to be a good thing. A closer look reveals some problems. There is a Trust fund, but that fund has been spent leaving IOUs that need to be redeemed from current tax revenue. At present time it is money in and then that money is paid out in benefits. As the boomers retire, and the economy stagnates there is a growing shortfall between these two. A THREE PERCENT rise in social security taxes is needed to keep the system going. There is no one in government willing to raise taxes enough to redeem these IOUs, so they understate your inflation adjustments and over time this makes their mismangement, your problem. Current retirees can expect to get as much back as they have put in. This might sound fair. The real picture is that the dollars contributed were worth far more in buying power than the ones you are getting. There is also the loss of interest returns on those dollars. The final blow is not knowing what the dollars you recieve twenty years from now will be worth. You will be lucky to get back twenty cents on each dollar in real terms. Many counties are turning to a sovereign wealth fund instead, where they purchase real assests to fund retiement." (votesmart.org)
